# Safe browsing & web filtering

The riskMalicious websites, fake login pages and risky downloads are a common way into a business. Newer risks are quieter: company data pasted into an AI chatbot, or files uploaded to a cloud app nobody approved.

When people work from home, the office firewall is no longer between them and the internet, so protection has to go with them.

 What it does- Blocks malicious, phishing and unwanted websites, wherever staff are working
- Filters by category, so you decide what's acceptable use for your business
- Filtering at the DNS level as well, covering apps as well as browsers
- A company-managed secure browser, or a lightweight extension for existing browsers, that applies your rules wherever staff work
- Shows which cloud apps and AI tools staff use, and can stop company data being copied into ones you haven't approved
- Stops devices with an active threat from reaching your business applications

 Who it's forBusinesses with staff working from home or on the move, and any business that wants a say in how staff use AI tools and cloud apps with company data.

 How we supply itBy default we supply the licence and you (or your IT provider) deploy it. If you'd rather hand the whole job to us, we can configure and install it for you at our standard day rate — scoped and agreed with you up front, and invoiced separately.

 What's under the hood**Sophos Workspace Protection** — a bundle of Sophos Protected Browser, DNS Protection, zero trust network access and email monitoring, managed from Sophos Fusion and licensed by user or device.

 Questions Do we need this if we have device protection?+Our device protection already blocks malicious websites and can apply basic category rules on each laptop. This adds DNS-level filtering, control over cloud and AI apps, data loss controls in the browser, and secure access to your business applications.

 Do staff have to use a different browser?+Not necessarily. There's a Sophos-managed browser based on Chromium, which will feel familiar to anyone who uses Chrome or Edge, or a lightweight extension that adds the protection to the browser they already use.

 Can we allow AI tools but stop people pasting customer data into them?+That's what it's designed for: approve the AI tools you're happy with, and control what data can be copied or uploaded to them.
